gospel singing

   Center Hill Baptist Church at 11291 Highway 486 in Philadelphia will have a gospel singing Saturday night, April 29th at 7:00 PM featuring the Revelations Quartet. A meal will be served in the fellowship hall after the singing. The public is cordially invited to attend.

   Hosted by Neshoba and Leake SWCD’s Specialists from MSU and NRCS will speak on forage management, rotational grazing, weed control, water quality, and fencing etc. at 111 Rockwood Road Carthage, MS at 8:30 a.m. on May 6th. Lunch will be provided.Register by April 26th at (601) 298-9101 ext. 3

   It is that time of the year again! The Neshoba County Vegetable Growers Association is beginning to prepare for the upcoming Farmers’ Market season. 

   I would like to cordially invite everyone to our Vegetable Growers Meeting on May 10th at 12:00 p.m. at the Farm Bureau Conference Room at 704 E Main St. Philadelphia, MS 39350. If you are interested in becoming a vendor for the 2023 Farmers’ Market, please plan to attend the Vegetable Growers Meeting. 

   Lunch will be provided, so please call the Neshoba County Extension office at 601-656-4011 by May 3rd to RSVP.

   We would like to invite everyone to our Spring Revival starting April 23th-25th2023 @ 7:00 nightly. We want to invite EVERYONE to make plans to attend! We are expecting great and mighty things to happen. Souls to be delivered, lives to be changed, bodies to be healed, broken things to be restored and miracles to take place! SPRING revival

   Enon Baptist Church in the Golden Grove Community will hold a spring revival April 23rd-28th. Sunday services will be at

   Linwoods Spring Fundraiser! Pulled Pork plates $10. If you are running for any position in Neshoba County and want to speak, please see Tye before 11:30am. Speaking starts at 12 and you will have 3-5 minutes depending on how many we have! Bring a card so I can pull from a hat! Come tell us what you stand for!!

   The Neshoba County Master Gardeners will be hosting their annual plant sale at The Depot on Friday, May 5th from 11 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be a variety of plants offered. We hope to see you there!

used book sale

   The used book sale continues until the end of the month at the Union (MS) Public Library. This sale features a large number of faith based books from the collection of the late Bro. Kevin Meador. All proceeds raised support additional year round programs provided by our libraries in Decatur, DeKalb, Newton, Scooba and Union. pre-k registration

   The Pre-Kindergarten Program is located at the Neshoba County School District, Office of Federal Programs/Pre-K building at 1125 Golf Course Road. Students are screened for enrollment by a pre­kindergarten test. The program is designed to serve those children with the most academic/ developmental needs, and will be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2023. The classes will begin and end to coincide with the regular school term at Neshoba County Schools. Participating students' parents will be required to provide transportation to and from the center. As other students in the school district, pre-k students will be offered breakfasts and lunches by the Neshoba County School District Food Services. 

   Registration and testing will be conducted from 8:30 am - 2:00 pm, on May 22 - 24. We ask that one parent attend with the child being tested. Registration documents can be printed at www.neshobacentral.com, select "Departments," "Federal Programs/Pre-K," and then select "Pre-K Program Registration."
