New COVID-19 cases in Neshoba County remain stagnant

Neshoba County has recorded 32 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths in the past week, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Oct. 26 report.

Neshoba County has now recorded a total of 6,656 cases of COVID-19 and 206 deaths since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians reported six new positive cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths in the past week as of Oct. 25, with the total number of positive cases for the Tribe standing at 2,468 with 123 deaths. The Tribe reported five new hospitalizations in the past week.

Neshoba County Schools have reported no new COVID-19 cases among students or staff and no quarantines as of Oct. 15.

As of Oct. 25, 28% of Neshoba County’s population is fully vaccinated, and 32% of the population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to MSDH.

Vaccinations are being administered at Walmart at 1002 W. Beacon St., Philadelphia, and Walgreens at 1005 W. Beacon Street in Philadelphia, according to the MSDH.
