Nancy Yates Hancock

Funeral services for Ms. Nancy Yates Hancock were at 2 PM Monday, September 25, 2023 at John E. Stephens Chapel. Interment was in Longino Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel was in charge.

Ms. Hancock, 73, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at her sister’s home in Byram, MS. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting hats as gifts for homeless and cancer patients, music and gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Tan Yates and Ruth Kirby Yates; sisters, June McKay, Polly Massey, Pearline Williams; brothers, Claud and Rudolph Yates.

Survivors include daughter, Beverly Morris of Virginia; son, Tommy Morris of Oklahoma; sisters, Mickey Hartle of Byram, MS, Mattie Wallace of Louisville, MS; sister-in-law, Myrtis Yates of Philadelphia; 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Nicholas and a host of nieces and nephews.
