Money donated for kids’ trophies

The Community in Action group of Philadelphia/Neshoba recently donated $1,998.92 to the Park Board, covering the cost of 140 trophies for kids participating in the Booker T. Washington Gym sports league.
Additionally, they donated $5,000 for the HVAC project at the gym. In January, the group granted $2,100 in college scholarships to five Philadelphia High School students, recognizing their achievements in essays about Martin Luther King Jr.
The scholarships will be presented to those deserving students during the upcoming awards day at the school.
