Political speaking gets underway this morning at the 134th edition of the Neshoba County Fair with a host of local officials before Thursday’s appearance by Gov. Tate Reeves closes the political slate.

De'Keither Stamps, a Democrat running for Central District Public Service Commissioner, leads off the speaking today at 8:30 a.m. at the Pavilion followed by Republican Brent Bailey and a host of other candidates concluding with Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann at 10:30 a.m.

Political speakers of note on Wednesday include four Republican candidates for Lieutenant Governor starting with Shane Quick at 10 a.m. and followed by Tiffany Longino and Chris McDaniel before Hosemann, the incumbent, takes the stage.

Day two on Thursday commences with a slate of 13 state officials. Speeches start at 8:40 a.m. with state Rep. C. Scott Bounds of Philadelphia. 

Gov. Tate Reeves will round out the political speaking at 10:40 a.m.

Each speaker will have 10 minutes.

The Meridian Day Program is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday and Coastal Mississippi Day is on Thursday. 

Another day of horse and harness racing begins at 2 p.m. today and tomorrow and at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

A full slate of music is on tap for the rest of the week. Jameson Rodgers is tonight (Wednesday) at 8 p.m.

The A.J. Yates Jr. Memorial Late Night Sing is tonight at the Pavilion at 1 a.m. 

Niko Moon is Thursday evening and Michael Ray will play the last night of the Fair before the fireworks show.

Season Tickets are $50, day tickets are $30, and children nine and under are free.
