A hit-and-run accident last week on Highway 19 south that left a man dead is being investigated by state and local law enforcement authorities.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark identified the victim as Sean Tubby, 31, of 128 Farmer Road.

Clark said deputies along with the Mississippi Highway Patrol are currently working to identify the vehicle that struck the man and left the scene.

“Investigators have done everything they could to connect the dots but they do not have a lot of answers at this time,” Clark said.

MHP determined through their investigation that the victim was struck near the intersection of Highway 19  and BIA 0241, according to Clark.

Deputies responded to a call at 4:10 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, when a motorist reported a male on the side of the road.

“The caller stated the male was wearing a white shirt, blue shorts and appeared to have been struck by a vehicle,” Clark said.

Neshoba EMS, the Neshoba County Medical Examiner, and Mississippi Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene.

MHP Troopers called in investigators to gather evidence and to document the scene, Clark said.

He was lying near the white fog line, just off the northbound lane, Clark said.

Anyone with information concerning the accident is asked to call (601) 656-1414 or East Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 1-855-485-8477.
