Man faces meth, marijuana possession charges

A Preston man was arrested on felony methamphetamine and marijuana possession charges in the Longino community Thursday evening, the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office said.

Thermon Johnson, Jr. of 122 Thermon Johnson Road, Preston, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of paraphernalia. 

Johnson remains in the Neshoba County Detention Center on $81,000 total in bond.

Sheriff Eric Clark said Johnson was stopped on Mississippi 21 north, near the intersection of County Road 557 in the Longino community on the evening of Thursday, April 29.  

Johnson was found to possess a felony amount of a controlled substance believed to be methamphetamine and a felony amount of marijuana, Clark said. 

More than $5,000 in cash was seized on the traffic stop as well.
