Man charged with rape of 16-year-old

A Neshoba County man was arrested and charged with raping a 16-year-old last month in the Dixon community.

The man, Benny Joe Stevens Jr., 43 14770 Highway 21 South, was arrested and charged with rape.

Administrative Deputy Amanda Wilkerson with the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office said they initially received a report on May 13 that Stevens had raped the 16-year-old on May 12, Mother’s Day, at a residence at Dixon.

A warrant was then issued for Stevens’ arrest.

Wilkerson said Stevens was arrested on May 21 by Union Police for possession of meth and was handed over to NCSO custody on May 29.
