An Alabama man has been arrested and charged on a warrant for exploiting a child here.

The man, Joseph Myer Morris, 30, 28694 Highway 22, Verbena, Ala., was arrested  by authorities in Clanton, Ala, on June 8 on the warrant issued in Neshoba County for the exploitation of a child.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said Morris was extradited here on June 23. Clark said Morris does not face any charges in Alabama as far as he knows at this time.

Clark said Morris allegedly contacted a 14-year-old minor through social media and attempted to arrange to meet on July 26, 2022. Clark said the meeting did not happen and that the attempt was reported that day by a family member.

Morris reportedly knew the alleged victim through and older sibling whom he had had a relationship with.

Clark said following the investigation into the alleged incident, his office was able to secure a warrant for Morris’ arrest on Sept. 23, 2022.
