A Leake County man was arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery in a Philadelphia motel room last week, the authorities said.

The man, Christopher Dorman, 27, was charged with armed robbery following his arrest by the Leake County Sheriff’s Department, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons.

“No bond has been set at this time,” Lyons said

At about 8:15 a.m. on Friday, June 9, PPD received an emergency call about a male subject who was robbed at gunpoint in a room at the Econo Lodge, 1530 Highway 16 west. .

The victim stated that Dorman invited him into a room, locked the door and placed a gun in his mouth, according to Lyons.  Dorman reportedly then grabbed the victim’s wallet and took $700 in cash and two casino chips valued at $25 each.

Dorman then told the victim he would “blow his brains out if he called police or made a sound,” Lyons said.

Dorman then exited the room and left in an SUV, Lyons said the victim told investigators.

Dorman was located and taken into custody at a residence in Leake County on Saturday.
