A Neshoba County woman was arrested on meth charges following a traffic stop last week.

The woman, Regan Thomas, 32, 881 Union Road, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

Deputies first encountered Thomas traveling east on Main Street in a white Chevrolet Silverado on Sept. 23 at about 10:45 p.m.

Clark said the deputy saw Thomas driving in an “erratic” or “hazardous” manner, swerving between lanes of traffic.

When the deputy stopped Thomas near Old Mexico, she told him that her vehicle was having alignment issues that made it difficult to control.

Clark said the deputy quickly determined that Thomas was “sweating and acting really nervous.” The deputy also suspected Thomas was intoxicated, Clark said.

“He could tell she had been drinking,” Clark said.

Thomas gave the deputy permission to search her vehicle, and the deputy found a felony amount of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine in the glove compartment of the vehicle she was driving.
