A line to the sewer main on Poplar Avenue was repaired this week causing traffic delays.
Crews worked to uncover the sewer main for replacement due to roots.
The excavation took place where sewer service from The First Presbyterian Church was completely stopped up with roots, Philadelphia Utilities officials said.
