The Leake Academy baseball team had a busy week as they continued their impressive start to the season.

The Rebels won three games last week to stay unbeaten, downing Madison St. Joseph 13-10 on Monday, Jackson Academy 7-3 on Thursday and Carroll Academy 16-3 on Friday. 

Leake, now 4-0, has another full week planned as they will host Madison St. Joseph on Monday and then host Manchester on Tuesday. They will finish the week on Thursday at Tri-County Academy.

Leake Academy 13, 

Madison St. Joseph 10

The Rebels built and early lead, lost it and rallied late to take a three -run win over the Bruins on Monday.

Leake used five walks and four hits in the first to score eight runs. Leake added a single run in the second and led 9-3 after two innings. But St. Joseph then scored two in the third and five in the fourth to take a 10-9 lead. But the Rebels settled down and scored one in the fifth to tie it and three in the seventh to take the lead.

Leake outhit St. Joseph 10-5 in the contest. Riley Myers was 3-for-3 with a double and two intentional walks. Bishop Hardin was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored, two walks and two RBIs. Charlie Brantley was 2-for-3 with three RBIs while Camden Marble was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. 

Myers started on the mound and pitched two innings and gave up three runs on five walks while striking out three. Hardin pitched in relief and gave up seven runs on four hits and six walks. Reese Atkinson pitched the last 3 1/3 innings and gave up one hit while striking out four.

Leake 7, 

Jackson Academy 3

The Rebels jumped out to an early lead and held on to take a four-run win over the Raiders on Thursday.

Leake scored four runs in the first and one in the second to lead 5-0 through four innings. The Raiders then scored two in the fifth but Leake answered with two of their own to lead 7-2. JA added a single run in the sixth for the final margin.

Each team had seven hits in the contest while Riley Myers was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs for the Rebels. Matthan Weaver doubled and scored a run while Rhett Atkinson tripled. Whitt Welch also singled and scored two runs. 

Atkinson started on the mound and picked up the win, going four innings while giving up three hits and a walk while striking out 10. Bryce Watkins pitched two innings and gave up three unearned runs on three hits and two walks whiles striking out four. Brewer McClain came in and pitched the seventh.

Leake 16, Carroll 3

Leake scored in every inning and took a six-inning, run-rule win over Carroll on Friday.

Leake scored four in the first, one in the second and three in the third to lead 8-3 after three. Leake continued to extend the lead as they scored one in the fourth, three in the fifth and four in the sixth.

Leake outhit Carroll 15-3 in the contest. Whitt Welch was 3-for-4with two runs scored and two RBIS. Bishop Hardin was 2-for-4 with a double, home run, two runs scored and four RBIs while Charlie Brantley was 2-for-3 with four runs scored and two RBIs. Rhett Stovall was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs while Riley Myers homered and drove in two runs. Camden Marble and Jarod Sims each doubles while Aiden Watkins tripled. Matthan Weaver and Rhett Atkinson each walked twice and scored twice.

Rece Atkinson started on the mound and pitched one inning and gave up one run on one hit and one walk while striking out two. Aiden Watkins pitched two innings and gave up two runs on one hit and two walks while striking out two. Jack Harkins pitched the last three innings and gave up just one hit and struck out two.
