Laura Leigh Merritt

Funeral services for Ms. Laura Leigh Merritt was held at 10 AM Monday, July 24, 2023, at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Dwight Faulkenberry officiating. Interment was in the Ocobla Cemetery. 

Ms. Merritt, 57, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia, MS. She lived most of her life in Neshoba County where she worked at Neshoba Central Schools. 

She was a member of Ocobla Baptist Church and, her hobby was spending time with her grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul James Thomas Jr. and Audrey Sullivan Hill. 

Survivors include daughters, Naomi Merritt (Jacob Howard) of Philadelphia, Anna Renfrow (Tyler) of Union; sister, Karen Jolly of Pelahatchie; (2) grandchildren, Sierra and Camden; stepfather, Clyde Hill of TN.
