 Lady Yellowjackets win three straight


The Union Lady Yellowjackets won three straight games in a busy week of softball.

                 After 5-1 loss to Sebastopol won Tuesday, the Lady Yellowjackets beat the Lady Bobcats 3-2 on Friday. Then on Saturday, Union beat Ethel 8-7 and Philadelphia 6-3 to finish out the week. 

                 Union, now 6-2, will return to action this week as they open division play. They will play at Morton on Tuesday and host the Lady Panthers on Thursday.


               Union picked up its first two wins of the season on the baseball diamond.

               Union took a 10-4 win over Raleigh on Monday and then beat the Lions 19-6 on Friday.

               Union, now 2-6, will begin Division 5-3A play this week as they host Forest on Tuesday and play at the Bearcats on Friday. The Yellowjackets will play at Philadelphia on Saturday.

               The Yellowjackets built an early lead and held on to take a six-run win over the Lions on Monday. 

               Union scored two in the first and added three in the third and four in the fourth. Raleigh scored one in the second and three in the fourth. Union finished with one run in the fifth.
