Congratulations to Amelia Henson who recently graduated from Mississippi State University Summa Cum Laude! What an awesome accomplishment!  She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication.  Although it was an unusual graduation day, due to the pandemic, Amelia was thankful to have acquired this degree.  She made many friends and happy memories during her four years at MSU. Her sister, Zoie, who is a student at MSU, was named to the Dean's List, 

Faith Tabernacle honored its six graduates with a special service on Sunday, June 7,   There were 2 high school graduates and 4 college graduates who were honored with a special worship service and a reception During the service, social distancing was observed by those attending and following the guidelines to keep everyone safe was observed.  

The service was awesome and the graduates felt honored by the special occasion.  The graduates wore their caps and gowns for the event.

Following the service, the congregation and the honorees attended the reception in the festively decorated Fellowship Hall. Each graduate was featured in a center with a cloth-covered table, background wall décor, and pictures and items from their high school or college careers displayed on the table.

A long refreshment table with a tall floral centerpiece of colorful spring flowers held an assortment of party foods including a large sheet cake iced in white with a black mortarboard, a diploma tied with red ribbon, and the words, "Class of 2020 Congratulations" covering the top. A tray of Nutter Butter cookies tagged with a label saying, "She's One Smart Cookie" accented by a mortarboard added to the festive décor. The graduates honored were Millie Holley, Hanna Richardson, Savannah Richardson, Brooke Long, Gabi Sparnecht, and Holly Ray.  Congratulations!

A Drive-By Bridal Shower honoring Brooke Long was held on Sunday afternoon, June 14, 2020, at the lovely home of Missy and Ken Winstead.  It was a perfect day for an outdoor drive-by event with the Winstead's beautifully landscaped front yard as the site.

The invitation read, "Since we can't be together to celebrate today, let's shower the bride-to-be in a different way. Drive-by to show your love and support."  The honoree and the hostesses greeted guests as each car stopped with windows down to visit for a few minutes. Brooke looked lovely in a white summer dress and seemed so happy and excited. It was a pleasure to meet her and wish her happiness.

Tanner Winstead and Brooke Long will be married on July 18 in a private ceremony for close family and the wedding party due to the pandemic. Congratulations and Best Wishes!  

Congratulations to Breann Nicholson, a graduate of Neshoba Central High School, who earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in May from Mississippi State University. She will begin her teaching career this fall at Sebastopol Attendance Center where she will teach math. 

Neshoba Central held its Dance Camp during the week of June 17-2. It was an exhausting but fun camp. The girls on the dance team learned many different routines for the upcoming Rockets season. One of the participants was Maggie Lee Griffis who is an upcoming junior.  She won the outstanding Hip-Hop award on Tuesday, and Co-Captain, and Outstanding Dance Award on Wednesday.  She had a wonderful time as a first-year member of the Dance Team. Congratulations! Her proud parents are Wright and Leslie Griffis.

The officers of the Philadelphia Police Department received a very pleasant surprise on Tuesday, June 16, when Mrs.  Kelley Warren and her daughter, Bella, presented them with "Prayer Cloths for the entire force. Mrs. Warren explained that each Prayer Cloth had been anointed and prayed over by the congregation of New Zion Tabernacle. What an incredibly kind act for the members of this church to do for our city police force. Thank you for your kindness. Mrs. Warren presented the cloths to Sgt. David Brackett and Lt. Evan Lyon who received them with sincere thanks.

Congratulations to Greg Eiland, a recent graduate of Mississippi State University, who was named to the Dean's List for the spring semester.  Greg was well known for his prowess on the Bulldogs football team and received many accolades during his career. His mother, Lesa Eiland, is so very proud of her son.

The eighteenth of June was a very special day for Tommie and Jerry Hardy. It was their 53rd Wedding Anniversary!  This couple enjoys retirement and being part of their grandchildren's lives as well as spending time with their families.  Congratulations!
