Joseph Allen Hegwood

Graveside services for Joseph Allen Hegwood were Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at 10 a.m. from North Bend Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Gomillion officiating.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hegwood, 97, of Philadelphia died Sunday, July 19, 2020.

Born and reared in Scott County, he lived in Jackson many years, and after retirement he and Edna moved to Neshoba County.

He drove a bus with Continental Trailways and received an award for driving over two million miles without an accident. He loved woodworking and many people are still enjoying the swings he made.  Mr. Hegwood was a member of North Bend United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include son, Joe Allen Hegwood, Jr.; daughters, Jan Evans, Cindy Jenkins, and Skyla Hailey; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hegwood was preceded in death by wife, Edna Green Hegwood; father, Allen Rush Hegwood; mother, Lela Austin Hegwood.
