Johnny D. Burkes

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny D. Burkes were held at 11 AM Friday, December 15, 2023 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Andrew Phillips officiating. 

Interment was in White Oak Cemetery. Visitation was from 10-11 AM Friday, December 15, 2023 at John E. Stephens Chapel. Mr. Burkes, 79, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, FL. He was a member of White Oak Baptist Church and enjoyed reading and yardwork. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt Burkes and Cleo Gentry Burkes; brothers, Willard, Billy Joe, Winford, Wayne, Wausie and Tommy Burkes. 

Survivors include wife, Carol S. Burkes of Arlington; daughters, Shannon (Tony) Pone, Shauna (J.B.) Reeves; step-daughters, Michelle (Troy) Ringo, Keisha (Tony) Tassin, all of Louisiana; 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
