James O. “Jim” Lowery

Funeral services for James O. “Jim” Lowery were held Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Don Parish, Warren Deweese and Bro. Tim Vowell officiating. Burial followed in Mars Hill Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lowery, 86, of Philadelphia died Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

Jim was born and raised in Winston County and was in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He worked for Choctaw Housing Authority, JG Sales, Daniels Used Cars and owned an upholstery business. Mr. Lowery was a longtime member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife, Wilma Lowery; daughters, Brenda Coutch and Gina Sisson (Greg); three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and their families.

Mr. Lowery was preceded in death by wife, Mavis Lowery; son, Allen Lowery; parents, Oliver and Ruby Lowery; sister, Cornelia Bechtel; brothers, David and Carrol Lowery.
