Traffic on Highway 19 South will be shifted to newly constructed lanes on Thursday afternoon, MDOT announced Wednesday.

The traffic shift will occur at about 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21.

Traffic will be shifted from the old lanes to the newly constructed lanes on both directions of Highway 19 between Tucker and Philadelphia, MDOT said.

The lane shift is part of the 4.6-mile expansion of SR 19 from two to four lanes.

Motorists are advised to drive slowly, pay attention to signage and be alert for roadside workers for the remainder of the project.
