Henry D. Powell

Graveside services for Henry D. Powell were held Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 3 pm from Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Mack Alford officiating.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Powell, 75, of Brandon, MS, died Sunday, November 28, 2021.

He was a native of Magee, MS, and was raised in the Martinsville Community of Smith County. Henry worked thirty-plus years as a carpenter for People’s Construction Company until retirement. Mr. Powell was a veteran of the U.S. Army. 

Survivors include wife, Sue Powell; daughter, Karen Rosamond; son, Jeff Powell of Brandon; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Virginia Easterling and Kathy Powell; brothers, Robert “R.L.” Powell, Joe Powell, Jerry Powell, Paul Powell, and Carl Powell.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his daughter, Gina Powell; parents, Gilbert and Wilma Powell; sister, MaryAnn Rushing; brothers, David Powell and James Ray Powell.
