Gwendola (Palmer) Hunter, 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at her home in Philadelphia, MS surrounded by her beloved family. Gwen was known for being a talented singer, a gifted chef, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church and a faithful, devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  

Preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Wayne Hunter; mother, Lillie Mae (Holder) Bexley; father, Virgil Palmer; step-father, Simon Thomas Bexley; sister, May Joyce Lott; great-grandson, Bentley Bozeman.

Survivors: sister, Alma Byrd; son, Floyd Hunter, daughter, Patricia Pendergrass (Brian); son, Sheldon Hunter; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews and cousins.
