Neshoba County Fair ag winners announced
From the Show Arena
It was another outstanding year for the 4H/FFA Livestock Shows and the Exhibit Hall at the 2023 Neshoba County Fair. Once again, the competition was tough in Livestock Arena.
There was a total of 64 4H/FFA exhibitors from all over the state showing 157 animals.
This year, we had the first-ever Dairy Goat Show at the Neshoba County Fair Livestock Show with 11 exhibitors. Of the remaining animals, 51 were Beef, 65 were Dairy, 22 were goats, and 8 were sheep. We would like to thank 2T Cattle Company, L&M Meat Market, East Mississippi Farmers Livestock, Dixie Cattle Feed, SSSS Steak House and The Southern Butcher for sponsoring belt buckles to the Overall Showmanship winners.
In the Beef show, Neshoba County 4Hers Caleb French, Chase Cockerham, Cash Cockerham, Carter Cockerham, Jagger Stephens excelled in the show ring, taking home several awards. Caleb French took home the Otis Nicholson Jr. Award for outstanding sportsmanship, herdsmanship and lending a helping hand to those around him.
In the Dairy Show, Neshoba’s very own 4H’er Landon Beason won first place in the 13-15-year-old Showmanship class as well as winning the overall Dairy Showmanship Belt Buckle. Landon also took home the Reserve Grand Champion in Commercial Dairy and Junior Dairy Show.
Congratulations to ALL of these winners. This county has plenty of reason to be extremely proud of our 4H livestock club. Families with youth ages 8 and older interested in showing livestock should contact the MSU Extension - Neshoba County office at 601-656-4011. In 4-H, we learn by doing, receive recognition for work well done, and learn skills that will help you in a future career.

"We highly appreciate the hard work and determination of several individuals in this town who made this year’s Livestock Shows and Exhibit Hall possible," organizers said. "Without the selflessness and tireless efforts of many volunteers and organizations, these events would not be the success that they are. To all those who gave their time and energy, THANK YOU!"
With this year’s fair in the books, the preparation and anticipation for the 2023 Neshoba County Fair begins.
