Express Oil Change coming to old WHOC radio location

An Express Oil Change is expected to be open this December where radio station WHOC was on Beacon Street.

Jason Morrow, director of operations for Express Oil Change in the state of Mississippi, said the company wanted to branch out in the state and felt Philadelphia would be a great place for the business.

“The idea to bring a new Express Oil Change came about two years ago,” Morrow said. “We’re growing in Mississippi and we felt Philadelphia was one of the cities we needed to be in. We’re aiming to be open sometime in December of this year.”

Express Oil Change is based in Birmingham, Alabama, and has stores in 10 locations across Mississippi, with Philadelphia set to be the newest, along with hundreds of locations across the Southeast.

Other Mississippi locations include Columbus, Hattiesburg, Horn Lake, Meridian, Olive Branch, Petal, Starkville, Tupelo, and West Point.

Morrow said Express Oil Change is a full shop that offers oil changes, along with various kinds of automotive care, including tire rotation, air filter and wiper blade replacements, water pumps, belts, and more.

“There are 10 Express Oil Change locations in Mississippi as of right now and this new one in Philadelphia will be our 11th location,” he said. “It might end up being the 12th location since another store is being built in Corinth.”
