A DeKalb man was arrested and charged with shoplifting at the Dollar General on Highway 16 East.

According to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark, Ladarious Moore, 24, 793 Firetower Road, DeKalb, was arrested and charged with shoplifting more than $1,000.

The NCSO received a call from an employee at Dollar General at about 11:58 a.m. on July 7. Clark said the employee described the suspect and was able to obtain a tag number.

Kemper County Sheriff’s deputies had pulled the vehicle over on Sport Watkins Road in Kemper County by 12:15 p.m. with trash bags full of stolen goods from the Dollar General. Moore was a passenger in the vehicle.

Clark said Moore is the only person suspected in this incident though further arrests have not been ruled out as the investigation continues.

The stolen goods ranged from bedding to Tide Pods to deodorant to a manicure set. When tallied up at the store printed out a receipt more than two feet long and totaling around $1,158, Clark said.
