A large amount of narcotics were recovered from a known drug dealer after a traffic stop earlier this month, the authorities said.

Granthan Kyle Steve, 38, 12270 Highway 16 West, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

On Sunday, July 2, at about 9 p.m. a Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a red Ford 500, Clark said. Steve was identified as a passenger in the vehicle and was already a target of a narcotics investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies questioned Steve on the roadside, who confessed to possessing a controlled substance at his residence on Highway 16, according to Clark.

Steve signed consent to search his property, where a large amount of methamphetamine and marijuana was collected from his bedroom. Clark said several items of paraphernalia were also collected during the search.
