Two men have been arrested on charges after deputies found drugs in their vehicle.

The driver, Ramey Dan, 48, 123 Rolling Hill Circle, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana in a vehicle, no insurance, and driving under a suspended license, according to Sheriff Eric Clark. He said Dan has an active warrant from the Philadelphia Police Department.

The passenger, Johnny Ree Davis, 64, 214 River Landing Road, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana in a vehicle.

Deputies encountered the pair at the Pow Wow on Highway 16 on Dec. 1, at about 9:45 p.m.

Deputies spotted the 2003 gray Dodge Grand Caravan known to be owned by Dan, who had a warrant for his arrest. After pulling up behind the vehicle and initiating blue lights, deputies then identified Dan as the driver and found he had a suspended driver’s license and no insurance. Davis was the passenger.

When asked if there was anything illegal in the car, Dan told deputies he “did not know” and gave permission for them to search the vehicle.

After a search of the vehicle, deputies found three small baggies of a leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a small bag of a hard crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine in between the driver’s seat and the passenger’s seat.

The two were then arrested and remain in the Nehsoba County Jail.
