Citizens closing Northside branch

Citizens closing Northside branch

The Citizen’s Bank of Philadelphia is closing its Northside branch on Sep. 15.

Opening in 1975, it was the bank’s second branch.

Jackie Hester, vice president and marketing director, said they are closing the branch due to having other branches in close proximity and due to the rise of mobile/online banking.

“We have three full-service locations already and we felt this location was making things a little repetitive,” Hester said. “We have great customers on the north side of town, but everyone is so mobile now. The only difference is that some customers might need to drive a couple of miles further to get to our other branches.”

Hester said even though the Northside location is closing, their primary Main Street location, Eastside Branch, and Westside Branch will remain open.

“We plan on servicing our customers the same way we always have and customer service is something we take very seriously,” she said. “We look forward to serving them at our other branches and we hope to meet their needs financially.”
