A private family graveside service for Catherine “Granny” Hardy was held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1 p.m. from New Harmony Cemetery with Rev. Clay Winstead officiating.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hardy, 92, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, September 19, 2021.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and a longtime resident of Coldwater Community. She formerly worked at Well-Lamont and also was an assistant cafeteria manager at Neshoba Central High School from which she retired. Her most rewarding job was keeping and helping raise her grandchildren. Mrs. Hardy was a member of Coldwater Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Ellon Stovall (Buck), Cathy Tolbert (Robert) and Jo Ann Carney; grandchildren , Marsha Vance (Shelton), Mark Stovall (Jennifer), Robin McClellan (Randy), Jill Luber (Mark), Jodie Smith, BJ Carney (Sara) and Sheila Carney; great-grandchildren, Olivia Vance Stachowski (Kevin), Jackson Vance, Kaley, Rivers and Walker Stovall, Burgin and Byron McClellan, Molly and Mac Luber, Austin, Tanner, Bailey and Madison Smith; brother, Bud Richardson of Mobile; several nieces, nephews and their families.

Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Hardy; infant son, Thomas Hardy; grandson, Matt Stovall; brothers, Eugene and Ircel Richardson.

Pallbearers were Shelton Vance, Randy McClellan, Mark Luber, Byron McClellan, Robert Tolbert, Mark Stovall, and Walker Stovall.  Honorary pallbearers were Buck Stovall, Austin Smith, Bailey Smith, Tanner Smith, Byron McClellan, Mac Luber and Kevin Stachowski.
