Bobbie Jean Mowdy

Services for Ms. Bobbie Jean Mowdy were held Sunday, December 31, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Billy James officiating. Burial followed in Bethsaida Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday, December 31, 2023 at 10 a.m. until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. 

Ms. Bobbie Jean Mowdy, 69, of Philadelphia died on Friday, December 29, 2023.

Ms. Bobbie was a native and lifelong resident of the Bethsaida Community of Neshoba County. She was a graduate of NCHS, ECCC with an Associate Degree then University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor’s Degree. She worked for Weyerhaeuser for several years then Brooks Manufacturing of Union and retired from Allied Enterprises. She loved spoiling her nieces and nephews and taking care of her animals. She was a member of Bethsaida   Baptist Church in Neshoba County. 

She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Mayo (Carl) of Philadelphia; brothers, Jimmy Mowdy (Toni) of Canton, James Mowdy (Judy) of Newton; nieces, Kim Johnson, Kristy Camp (Jason), Leah Harbour (Matt), Shannon Mowdy; nephews, Jeff Mayo, Jason Mayo, Justin Mowdy (Shiloh); great-nieces, Jaden Mayo, McKinley Johnson, Anna Leigh Mayo, Molly Camp; great-nephews, Logan Johnson, Briggs Camp; aunt, Linda Mowdy. She is also survived by a host of cousins and friends. 

Ms. Bobbie was preceded in death by parents, HM and Bertie Mae Mowdy; nephew, James Anthony Mayo.
