Philadelphia police have arrested and charged six people in connection with the shooting death of Tommie Warren, who was struck by a stray bullet at his home Monday evening.

Police Chief Eric Lyons said officers have charged six people in connection with the shooting and expect more arrests as the investigation continues.

• Dartavion Boyd, 18, of Sherwood Drive, was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

• Jakyenzie Wilson, 22, of Cora Street, was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

• Jacoria Reynolds, 19, of North Donald Avenue, was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

• Zykeus Macon, 22, of Samp Street, was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

• Meroski Harrington, 21, of Cajun Lane, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact.

• James Carter, 22, of Coleman Street, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Officials said that Warren, 31, was transported by car to Neshoba General after being struck by a stray bullet at his residence Monday night off of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

According to Eric Lyons, Warren later died en route by helicopter to Jackson.

Lyons said they received a call reporting shots fired around 7 p.m. Monday at a Martin Luther King Jr. Drive residence near Bennet Street. Upon arrival, officers said they were informed a man had been shot and was transported to Neshoba General Hospital in a personal vehicle.

Lyons said Warren is not believed to be a target and was hit by a “stray bullet” as two groups exchanged gunfire on MLK Drive nearby.

Lyons said a pizza delivery person was at Warren’s residence at the time of the shooting.

Boyd, Wilson, Reynolds and Macon were in one of the groups exchanging fire, and Lyons said Carter was part of the other.

He went on to say that the above arrests came as a result of nearly 30 interviews and that more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.

“We still need to verify some of the stories through further interviews,” Lyons said.

Lyons said that police are still looking for more information, and any information that could assist in this investigation would be “gladly appreciated.”
