Deputies arrested four individuals last Tuesday on a mixture of outstanding warrants and drug charges following a traffic stop at the intersection if Highway 15 and Highway 16, Sheriff Eric Clark reported.

Clark said around 2 p.m., deputies observed a Dodge Durango speeding and swerving in opposite lanes. From there, deputies ran the license plate and it came back to a female, Brierra Foster, who had an outstanding warrant in Neshoba County.

During the stop, Clark said deputies smelled marijuana coming from the inside.

Clark said there were six occupants in the car — five males and Foster. The driver was identified as Tevarus Harden.

Upon exiting the passengers from the car, Clark said deputies immediately placed Foster under arrest for the outstanding warrant before searching the vehicle.

“While looking through the vehicle, the odor of marijuana was detected coming from a bag in the back seat,” Clark said. “Deputies opened the bag and found an orange pill bottle that had several pills inside that were later found to be ecstasy pills.

“A small glass mason jar that had a bag containing a green leafy substance inside was also located in the vehicle,” Clark added.

According to Clark, Harden claimed the bag containing the drugs was his and he was subsequently placed under arrest.

Two of the other four occupants, Marvin Worthy and William Johnson, were placed under arrest and transported to the Neshoba County Jail for outstanding warrants, Clark said.
