Three people, including a juvenile, have been arrested in a series of car burglaries here on Golf Course Road and Airpark Drive in a spree that began in Winston County, Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said.

The suspects have been identified as Markevious Clemons, Gavin Stovall, and a juvenile.

Clemons, 13181 Road 571, has been charged with five counts of burglary.

Stovall, 10980 Road 4300, Union, was arrested and charged with seven counts of burglary.

Clark said the juvenile has been charged with seven counts of burglary as well.

A series of car burglaries that started in Winston County on Aug. 21 led investigators to the trio.

Early Monday morning, two males burglarized four cars in Winston County at two different residences on Mars Hill Road.

One of those vehicles was a Ford F-150 police vehicle, where the men took an AR-15 style police rifle, a ballistic vest, and the officer’s handgun. Just down the road they entered two more cars and stole two more handguns from the vehicles parked in the yard.

“They weren’t so lucky that night in Neshoba County,” Clark said.

A resident on Road 397 interrupted the robberies by shining a light and firing shots to deter the burglars. Home security cameras at the residence and at one of the Winston County residences revealed a vehicle description to investigators.

The vehicle was entered into the Flock License Plate Reader system, which identified the registered owner’s address, Cark said.

The deputies, with assistance from Winston County, recovered evidence at the address, including the missing patrol rifle. Over the course of the next two days, deputies recovered three AR-15 rifles, four handguns, the ballistic vest, handgun holsters, and several handgun magazines.

One of the handgun holsters expanded the investigation and helped solve the car burglaries on Golf Course Road and Airpark Drive here.

Multiple vehicles were burglarized at two residences on Golf Course Road, where a wallet and two handguns were taken. The burglars proceeded to Airpark and broke into a truck, stealing a box that contained 20 plus cell phones, according to Clark.
