Neshoba County recorded 97 new COVID-19 cases and two new deaths in the past week, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Sept. 21 report.

Neshoba County has now recorded a total of 6,430 cases of COVID-19 and 201 deaths since the pandemic began in March 2020. 

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians has reported 60 new positive cases of COVID-19 and one death in the past week as of Sept. 20, with the total number of positive cases for the Tribe standing at 2,440 with 123 deaths since the pandemic began in March 2020. Six new hospitalizations have been reported.

Neshoba County Schools have not reported case and quarantine numbers since Sept. 10.

As of Monday, 27% of Neshoba County’s population is fully vaccinated, according to MSDH, and 30% of the county’s population had received one of the 16,436 total doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered in the county.

Vaccinations are being administered at Walgreens at 1002 W. Beacon Street in Philadelphia, according to the MSDH.

Statewide, since the pandemic began in March 2020, 276,519 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded by the MSDH along with 201,250 probable cases, totaling 477,769 cases. There have been 6,283 confirmed COVID-19 deaths, along with 3,048 probable deaths, totaling 9,331 deaths.
