2 charged with capital murder in shooting death of boy

Two men have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man on Valley View Drive late Saturday night.

Demonte Renfroe, 18, and Kornelious I’Tavan Triplett, 21, both of Philadelphia have been charged with capital murder and armed robbery in connection with the shooting death of Wiliam Gage Arnold, 18, on Saturday, Feb. 19, around 10 p.m.

“Through investigation police determined that two men were robbed and assaulted by Renfroe and Triplett on Valley View Drive and made off with an undisclosed amount of money and property,” Police Chief Eric Lyons said.

Lyons said that Triplett was apprehended around 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22 and Renfroe was brought in as a suspect on Monday.

Both men are currently being held at the Winston County Jail.
