Huber Engineered Woods, a leading specialty building products manufacturer, is planning to locate a state-of-the-art oriented strand board manufacturing plant near Shuqualak in Noxubee County about 50 miles east of Philadelphia.

The project is a $418 million corporate investment and will create 158 new jobs, officials said.

Huber plans to locate on a 551-acre site where the company will produce specialty engineered wood panels.

The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for infrastructure needs.

Huber is one of the largest private land managers in the U.S. and employs more than 1,000 people across the country.

Construction on the new facility is expected to begin soon. The new facility is Huber’s largest capital investment to date, officials said.

“Noxubee County is proud to support and work with Huber Engineered Woods in their new location near Shuqualak,” said Eddie Coleman, president of the Noxubee County Board of Supervisors. “We are thankful for their confidence in our workforce and look forward to a long-term partnership that supports their profitability, as well as our communities, citizens and schools.”
