A Neshoba County man wanted in multiple jurisdictions is in custody after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase Friday night in a stolen Jeep, the authorities said.

The man, Jehovah Horace James Dixon, 22, faces charges of DUI, felony fleeing and reckless driving, among others things, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

Clark said the suspect gave an address in the Sistrunk Trailer Park off of Weyerhaeuser Road in Philadelphia. He is currently in the custody of Choctaw Police and faces additional charges.

Clark said Dixon is wanted on armed robbery charges in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition, Clark said Dixon was arrested driving a vehicle reported stolen in Conehatta.

Law enforcement first encountered Dixon March 24 driving a white Jeep on Highway 16 west near Road 373 at about 10:30 p.m., according to Clark. He said a deputy saw Dixon driving at a high rate of speed with a missing tail light.

The Deputy initiated his blue lights and Dixon fled turning onto Industrial Road and continuing onto James Billie Road where Clark said the suspect went through several residential areas at a high rate of speed, in some cases more than doubling the posted speed limit.

“He showed a reckless disregard for others on the road and the safety of others,” Clark said.

Clark said Dixon then sped from James Billie Road to Black Jack Road and onto North Oswald Road and continued south, leading officers on a chase that ended with Dixon driving off the road and stalling his vehicle near where Oswald Road meets Highway 16 in front of the schools where Choctaw Police took him into custody. Clark said the chase lasted about nine minutes.

During questioning, Dixon admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking methamphetamine that night. Officers found a small amount of what was believed to be meth on him as well.

Authorities later learned that the Jeep Dixon was driving was reported stolen from Conehatta earlier that afternoon.

Clark said he has filed the proper paperwork with Choctaw Police to have Dixon extradited to his custody to face the county charges and hopes to have him in custody soon.
