A DeKalb man was arrested and charged as a suspect in a Friday breaking and entering case, the authorities said.

The man fleeing law enforcement who crashed through a Line Street home Wednesday night as a boy worked on his computer catapulting him into the back yard was arrested about an hour later after he fled the horrific scene on foot and hid in the woods behind a nearby church, the authorities said.

A boy working on his computer was thrown from his room and seriously injured after a vehicle police were chasing slammed into his home and when through it at the south end of Poplar Avenue Wednesday evening, his family said.

Johnny Beckwith has been serving the community as pastor of the Ivy Street Church of Christ for 42 years.
