A Neshoba County woman was arrested and charged after allegedly driving under the influence with two children in her vehicle, the authorities said.

The woman, Regan Thomas, 31, 867 Union Road, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, DUI and two counts of child endangerment.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said Thomas has since posted a $10,600 bond.

He said Thomas was arrested on Saturday, April 22, at about 1:45 a.m. at a traffic checkpoint on Road 210 near Highway 21 south.

Thomas admitted to deputies that she had been drinking, had taken prescription medication and methamphetamine at a friend’s house in Meridian that evening.

She failed a field sobriety test, according to Clark.

A search of the vehicle revealed a felony amount of meth, Clark said.  The drugs were found in a cigarette pack in the center console cup holder and another baggie was found in a dashboard compartment near the vehicle’s radio, he said.

Clark said Thomas had two children in the car with her at the time. He said the family was notified and they were picked up that evening. Clark said he did not know the ages of the children.
