Three supervisor races, the Sheriff, and a constable race will be decided in the upcoming Nov. 7 general election as voters are gearing up to head to the polls. 

Republicans Kevin Cumberland and Kinsey Smith will face Independent challengers in their respective supervisor races, while Democrat Obbie Riley faces a Republican and an Independent challenger. 

Sheriff Eric Clark faces a Democratic challenger, and for the Constable Place 1 Position, Republican John Lilley will face an Independent challenger.

Absentee voting is already in progress and will remain open until noon, on Saturday, Nov. 4.

In addition to normal business hours, the Circuit Clerk’s Office will be open on Saturday, Oct. 28, and Saturday, Nov. 4, from 8 a.m. to noon. specifically for absentee voting.

Results from the Aug. 8 Primary and Aug. 29 Runoff Elections show:

• District 1 Supervisor Race: Republican Mike Snow emerged victorious in a runoff against Shelby Beason. There was no Democrat challenger.

• District 2 Supervisor Race: Incumbent Republican Kevin Cumberland secured the nomination, surpassing Devon Marshall, Tony Myers, Susan Shoffner, and Brian Whittle. Cumberland will face Independent challenger John Stokes in the general election.

• District 3 Supervisor Race: Incumbent Republican Kinsey Smith clinched a tight victory in the runoff against Christopher C. Gardner for the Republican nomination. Smith will face Independent challenger Colby Pope in November.

• District 4 Supervisor Race: Incumbent Republican Kevin Wilcher triumphed over Gordon Adkins in a runoff. There was no Democrat contender.

• District 5 Supervisor Race: Incumbent Democrat Obbie Riley secured the Democrat nomination, besting Cynthia Graham in the Primary. Riley is set to face Republican David E. Carter and Independent Deric Horne in November.

• Chancery Clerk: Gidget Stovall Tate secured the Republican Nomination after defeating Brad Stuart. Tate is unopposed in the general election.

• Circuit Clerk Race: Delana Waddell emerged victorious, defeating Grant Myers in a runoff. There is no Democrat opposition for Waddell in November.

• Coroner/Medical Examiner: Myron Williams secured the Republican nomination, besting Tim Watkins in the primary. Williams will face no opposition in November.

• Sheriff: Incumbent Eric Clark secured the Republican nomination after defeating Jessie Hamilton in the primary. Clark will face Democratic challenger Danny Carter in November.

• Justice Court Judge Place 1: Steve Cumberland clinched the Republican nomination, surpassing Incumbent Paul Payne. Cumberland has no opposition in the general election.

• Constable Place 1: Republican John Lilley secured the nomination, defeating Patrick L. Burt in a runoff. Lilley will face Independent challenger Cortez Peebles in November.
