The Union Yellowjackets finished the regular season out with a pair of wins last week, grabbing a pair of double-digit victories. 

The Yellowjackets beat Sebastopol 75-53 and then beat J.Z. George 66-46 on Thursday. 

The Lady Yellowjackets split a pair of games, falling 53-48 to Sebastopol before hammering J.Z. George 61-27 for senior night. 

The Union girls are the No. 1 seed in the Division 4-2A Tournament this week at Union. They will play the winner of Eupora and J.Z. George on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The championship game is set for Friday at 7 p.m. 

The Union boys finish as the No. 2 seed and will take on Sebastopol on Friday at 8:30 p.m. in semifinal action. The championship game is set for Friday at 8:30 p.m. 

Union 66, J.Z. George 46

The Yellowjackets started fast and finished strong to take a 20-point win over the Jaguars on senior night.

Union jumped out to a 22-11 lead in the first period and outscored J.Z. 13-11 in the second period to lead 35-22 at the half. The Jaguars took the third period 16-14 to cut the lead to 49-38 going to the fourth. But Union outscored J.Z. George 17-8 in the fourth to take the win.

Kamarion Rushing led Union with 21 points while U’Darrian Hickman had 18 points. Keon Hutchins had 13 points while Mason Tucker added seven points.

Union girls 61, J.Z. George 27

The Lady Yellowjackets celebrated senior night in fine fashion, taking a 34-point win over the Lady Jaguars on Thursday night.

Union led 14-8 at the end of the first period and then outscored J.Z. George 23-6 in the second period to take a 37-14 lead at the half. Union continued to extend the lead in the third period and outscored J.Z. George 17-5 in the third to take a 54-19 lead into the fourth. J.Z. George took the fourth period 8-7 for the final margin.

Gracyn Tillman led Union with 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Kylee Madden had 13 points, five assists and four steals as she reached the 1,000-point mark on her career. Rymia Craft had nine points, six rebounds and four steals while Tiara Campbell had eight points, seven rebounds and two steals. 

Union boys 75, Sebastopol 53

The Yellowjackets outscored the Bobcats in three of the four period to take a 22-point win on Tuesday. 

Union outscored Sebastopol 17-11 in the first and 19-13 in the second to lead 36-24 at the half. Sebastopol took the third period 16-13 to cut the lead to 49-40 going to the fourth. Union then pulled away in the fourth by out scoring Sebastopol 26-13 in the fourth. 

U’Darrian Hickman led Union with 20 points while Kamarion Rushing had 17 points. Mason Tucker had 12 points while Keon Hutchins had 11 points and Zi Buckley chipped in eight points.

Sebastopol girls 53, Union 48

The Lady Bobcats posted a furious fourth-period comeback and took a five-point win to hand the Lady Yellowjackets their first loss in division 4-2A play.

Sebastopol led 14-12 at the end of the first period while Union outscored the Lady Bobcats 12-8 in the second to lead 24-22 at the half. Union extended its lead in the third period and outscored Sebastopol 13-9 to lead 37-31 going to the fourth period. But Sebastopol had a big fourth period as they outscored Union 22-11 to take the win.

Gracyn Tillman led Union with 18 points, five rebounds and three deflections. Kylee Madden had 15 points, eight rebounds, three steals, two assists and two deflections while Rymia Craft had six points, 12 rebounds, three steals and two deflections. Elle Killen also had six points and six deflections.
