Rockets baseball goes 2-2 over weekend

The Neshoba Central Rocket baseball team went 2-2 over the weekend.

The Rockets started Friday with an 11-8 loss to Newton County and then dropped a 15-3 decision to Madison County. On Saturday, the Rockets blew out Morton 12-2 and then defeated Louisville 10-0.

Neshoba Central, now 9-6, will host Cleveland Central on Thursday and visit Ethel on Friday.

The Newton County Cougars scored seven in the fifth inning and held on to beat the Rockets.

Reid Hall took the pitching loss.

Azaylon Hickman hit a double and two singles to lead the Rockets at the plate.

Madison 15

Rockets 3

Madison Central took an early lead and outhit the Rockets 15-4 in their win.

The Jaguars scored four in the first, four in the second, two in the fifth and five in the seventh. Neshoba Central score one in the first and two in the fifth.

Ramey Harrison took the pitching loss. Cade Hall went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Morton 2

The Rockets bounced back Saturday with a win over Morton.

The Rockets scored five in the first, two in the second, two in the third and three in the sixth, Morton scored one in the fourth and one in the sixth.

Jaress Goodin was the winning pitcher. Harrison pitched four innings.

Reid Hall, Ramie Harrison, Jacob Killens and Bryceton Spencer all hit a double to lead the Rockets at the plate.

Louisville 0

The Rockets kept up a steady attack as they bested Louisville in five innings.

Neshoba Central scored three in the first, one in the second, one in the third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Cade Hall was the winning pitcher. Hickmon and Harrison both had two hits to lead the Rockets.
