Police are seeking a suspect in shots being fired on Ivy Street earlier this month, the authorities said.

“We are following up on leads to identify the male and charges are expected to be filed for discharging a firearm in city limits,” said Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons.

The incident happened on March 18 at about 10 p.m. near the Sportsman Club, according to Lyons. He said an individual fired several rounds into the air.

Lyons said officers arrived on scene “within seconds” and observed a black male drop an AR-style rifle and flee on foot.

“The gun was recovered and the male subject got away on foot,” he said.

Anyone with information related to this or another crime is encouraged to call the Philadelphia Police Department at 601-656-2131 or call Crime Stoppers at (855) 485-8477.
