A man has been arrested in connection with the Spaceway shooting last week that sent a man to the hospital.

Police arrested Christopher McGowan, 27, of Philadelphia on Tuesday, Jan. 28, hours after investigators say he shot an unidentified man outside the store on north Pecan Avenue near Northside Park. He is charged with one count aggravated assault.

Philadelphia Police Investigator Bobby Pattillo said Wednesday police are still talking to witnesses to determine exactly what happened. Police are withholding the identity of the victim, who is a male, but Pattillo said the injuries he suffered were non-life threatening and that he has subsequently been released from the hospital.

Philadelphia Police first received a call concerning the gunshots around 6 p.m. The first officers to arrive on the scene discovered the man who had been shot and dispatched an ambulance to transport him to Neshoba General Hospital.

McGowan was taken into custody later at a nearby residence. He has since been released on bond.

Pattillo said the investigation is ongoing.
