Philadelphia Police officers assisting after tornado in Delta

Officers with the Philadelphia Police Department are assisting in Rolling Fork after a tornado Friday night destroyed a large portion of that town.

Officers were sent to assist with patrol duties and security as a demand for more law enforcement was needed, among many other things.

PPD officers have responded to numerous 911 calls and identified individuals attempting to loot and trespass.

“More assistance is needed in which we plan to send an additional officer and supplies as well,” PPD said in a Facebook post.

“Any supplies or items anyone wants to donate may drop them off at the Police Department front office. We will deliver to that area next week.”
