Neshoba Central Navy JROTC deemed ‘exceptional’

The Neshoba Central Naval JROTC program was deemed “exceptional” during its annual Area Manager’s Inspection.

The inspector looked at drills, ceremonies, clothing and property inventory. Financial accounts were also reviewed.

The inspection also included a staff briefing.

Captain Regan Kieff, Neshoba Central’s Senior Naval Science Instructor, called the inspection “a huge accomplishment and a milestone achievement.”

“The Neshoba Central NJROTC program operates as well or better than many of the Active Component and Army National Guard units I have served with in my 30 years of service,” said LTC. David Alexander. “The level of discipline and professionalism the instructors, Captain Kieff and Chief [Michael] Bulloch, instills in the cadets is evident in every aspect of this program.”

Alexander said the cadets were well prepared. 

“They performed during the inspections and drills in an exemplary manner. Uniforms and personal appearance were of the highest standards.”

He noted the program’s precision and its attention to detail which were displayed in drills and ceremony demonstrations.

Cadets were motivated and intently involved in the entire inspection from start to finish, he said.

He also cited the cadets’ high level of teamwork and self-discipline. Cadets got excited when talking about their service to the community and their numerous accomplishments in the program. 

The support of the principal, staff and school district is evident from my observation and from my conversations with all involved during the inspection, Alexander said.

“Captain Kieff and Chief Bulloch give 100 percent of themselves to this program and it is displayed in the actions and behaviors of the cadets,” he said.

“It was an honor to inspect the Neshoba Central NJROTC program. I hope to have some of these cadets in my formation one day and I am proud to have these young people in my community!”
