Just Among Friends
Students were invited to "Kick off to a Great School Year" on the Neshoba Central football field on July 29.
Jarquez Hunter, running back for the Auburn Tigers and a former Rocket, was present to distribute autographed pictures of him wearing his Auburn football uniform for thrilled fans, many of whom were wearing Jarquez's #27 t-shirts! The event also featured a school supply giveaway. It was an exciting event that was well attended by eager fans. Thank you to Jarquez for contributing your time to our students!

Exciting news! Dr. Michael and Chelsea McClain Senitko and their three children are moving to his home country, Slovakia, for an undetermined length of time. Dr. Senitko is a pulmonologist who has been practicing in Jackson and has been affiliated with UMMC's Jackson campus. Chelsea is a Family Nurse Practitioner who is currently a stay-at-home mom. We wish them safe travels and a very happy journey to their new home!

The 2023 Neshoba County Fair 2023 found Shirley Cox sitting on the porch of the Cox cabin greeting friends and family who were as excited to see her as she was to see them! She enjoyed visiting with her many Fair friends who stopped by the cabin for their once-a-year visit. Shirley looked lovely every day in her fair wardrobe.
Her daughters, Carla Cox Martin, and Terri Cox McCarver, her granddaughters, and their grandchildren and spouses, all spent time with their beloved grandmother/great-grandmother during the Fair making precious memories.

The Philadelphia High School Class of 2024 was honored with a Senior Breakfast on Thursday morning. It was the first time the students had been together since school ended in May, and there was a lot of chatter and visiting during the event.

Mr. and Mrs. Adam Mars were married on June 19, 2023, in a ceremony at the Neshoba County courthouse in the late afternoon. The Hon. Judge Joseph Kilgore performed the ceremony. The bride is the former Brooke Ishee.
The couple waited for a day and time when all of their children could attend the ceremony. It finally happened!
Adam and Brooke commemorated their marriage the next day with Brooke looking lovely in a white summer dress and carrying a bouquet of pink and white flowers. Adam wore a dark navy suit with a boutonniere on his lapel and looked handsome. The bride and groom had pictures made in front of the courthouse together and with their children. It was a very happy group. Congratulations and best wishes!

An engagement party was held for Greg Eiland and Madysen Hall-Schiffner on July 15. Greg is a former resident of Philadelphia who is now a professional football player for the Seattle Seahawks. He played for the Philadelphia Tornadoes and the MSU Bulldogs. Congratulations!
