The First graders at Leake Academy started a new tradition at the school on Aug. 19. The boys and girls invited their favorite teddy bears to the first “Teddy Bear Tea Party.”

The cafeteria was turned into a very special tea room for the occasion with the tables covered in pastel cloths and centerpieces of teapots and faux cake stands among other tea party items displayed on deep pink runners across the center.

Teddy bear cupcakes looking so cute were served from tiered servers along with iced cookies. Each place was set with a charming floral patterned plate and a matching "tea cup".  The teddy bear guests sat on the table near their hosts. There were bears of all sizes. A few of the teddy bears were disguised as a large blue flop eared rabbit, a pink piggy, and a Curious George monkey!

Many of the children were dressed for the occasion with hats, jewelry, ties, and hair bows. They all looked so cute! It seemed as though a good time was had by all!
