Kimberly Killen, a Philadelphia High School educator, was named Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction. A role model to students, Kimberly was nominated by a student for outstanding dedication and commitment to the profession.

Each year, student members of the National Society of High School Scholars are invited to nominate the educator who has made the most significant contribution to their academic careers for the Claes Nobel of Distinction Award.

This honor recognizes exemplary educators whose devotion and passion inspire their students to grow and develop as scholars, leaders, and citizens. According to one of her students, “she makes learning fun!” Congratulations!

Mary Mosley’s monthly clinic appointment with her oncologist in September was a good one! According to her oncologist, she’s “still a normal kid.” She will continue monthly checkups through December. Then, if all remains stable, checkups will move to every three months!

She represents September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month) this year in the UMMC calendar.

Her picture and bio are awesome! #lifeaftercancer#thriving What a joyful post!

Answered prayers from hundreds of people all over who have connected with Mary Mo’s story.

A major shout out to Neshoba County’s District 5 Supervisors Obbie Riley, Eat Tacos, and Pelahatchie Eggs for providing the Tornadoes football team with grilled chicken plates after a great practice last week! He was a teammate of Coach Posey and said he loved what he was seeing from our players and staff! What a great show of support for our Tornadoes! Thank you!

We had a wonderful surprise last Friday. Candler and Bert texted to say they were coming on Saturday to visit! It made us so very happy. We always look forward to any time they can come. It was such a delight to have them. They also did things that needed doing around the house and, as always, made a great cooking team. The house feels alive again, and it’s a pleasure to know they are with us. It’s always hard when they leave, but knowing they have a good life in Dallas is comforting.
