Emmajane Lepard was chosen as an MAIS Softball All-Star! She is a student at Leake Academy where she plays on the Rebels softball team. The game will be played on Oct. 11 at Jackson Prep starting at 4:15 p.m. Congratulations and good luck!

Those of you who watched the People's Choice Country Awards last Friday night would have seen our own HARDY and Lainey Wilson receive a “Music Video of 2023” trophy for the “Wait in the Truck” video!  Congratulations!

The Kappa Delta Sorority held its annual Mother-Daughter Tea last weekend at the sorority house on the Mississippi State University Campus. 

Meredith Adams was a guest of her daughter, Monica Belvin Adams, who is an active KD and a sophomore at MSU. It was a festive occasion with the house beautifully decorated to welcome their honored guests.

Sunday, Oct. 1 marked a milestone wedding anniversary for Pat and Jo Helen Daly who have been married for 56 years! The couple has two sons, two daughters-in-law and four grandchildren.

Pat has retired from his business, while Jo Helen is quite active in our community and contributes many hours to participating in local events. She also works for Prince Oil Company. Happy Anniversary!

Neshoba County Elementary School will host their 1st Annual Attendance Wars! (Not to worry, there will be no fighting! The war will be a competition among the grades. The grade level with the best attendance record from Oct. 2 to Nov. 30, will win a Disney Virtual Field Trip with Disney treats!

The Mississippi Roster for the MS/AL All-Star Game has been announced and includes a former Tornado football team member Isaiah Autry, who attends Itawamba AHS. He will play on the offensive line. A senior, Isaiah has been heavily recruited for his outstanding football prowess. He has verbally committed to play for the University of Oklahoma this fall.

His grandmother is Ruby Jean Thompson-Brazzle of Philadelphia. His parents are Marcus L. and Pashen Thompson Dent, Sr. Congratulations!

Preliminaries for Mississippi’s Our Little Miss were held on Saturday, Sept. 30. Hannah Moore had a fabulous time participating in the contest. Not only did she have a great time, but she also won the Princess title! She will compete for the State OLM title this year. Her proud parents are Tim and Andrea Jay Moore. Congratulations!

Cheers to 50 years for Bill and Susan Rosamond! This couple celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 5. They have one son and two grandsons.  Susan enjoys helping Jenny Dabbs at her business a few days a week and Bill is an avid golfer. Congratulations!

Congratulations to the newly elected officers of Leake Academy’s Beta Club Officers for the 2023-2024 school year! The President is Cris Burns; the Vice President, is Shelby Rudolph; the Secretary, Katie Sockey; Chaplain is Mitch Pucklitsch.

Congratulations to Leake Academy's Junior Beta Club officers who were also recently elected for the 2023-2024 school year. The President is William Warner; Vice President Jack Carr; the Secretary, Layla Smith; the Chaplain is Gracie Smith. It is an honor to be inducted into the National Beta Club at both levels and certainly is an honor to be elected to hold an office!

Philadelphia Public Schools “Pinked Out” last Friday to support Breast Cancer survivors and those who are fighting this hideous disease. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month which is directed toward educating women about breast cancer that knows no boundaries and encouraging those who are over a certain age to get an annual mammogram. Thank you to all of those who “Pinked Out!”
